Ok, Im very interested in your perspective. Ive been with Hewitt as an actuary since college, so i have no other reference point. I enjoy the vault to get a glimpse at the 'front line' opinions of other areas of the firm (not the crap we hear from 'info shares'), but didnt think actuaries were present here much.
While I think the firm has made some terrible choices in leadership and direction, I must say I enjoy the job I do and have always admired the talent around me in the actuarial group (generally, a very intelligent segment of the population, though intelligence and leadership are not the same thing).
Can you give me more on what you feel is lack of talent in the actuarial group? (Its a pretty common opinoin that actuaries are not interesting, so Im not sure they are any LESS interesting here than actuaries Ive met elsewhere).
Just curious, and hoping to expand my thinking. |

don't sweat it, if you're happy, great. I worked with 2 previous firms and would rank one of them as a lot more creative. There are talented people in all industries, let's face it-the actuarial environment is very regulated and slow moving.
