Message: The general contractor who works on my house is gay. I know this because he is a friend of the family. If I ever pulled him aside and said something to the effect of, "As your employer, I would like you to put down the hammer so we can celebrate your sexual preferences", he would not so much be embarassed and insulted (which I expect he would be), but he would look at me like I was a freaking idiot. If he was heterosexual, he would give me the same look. It does not make me homophobic or prejiduce. It illustrates that I am respectful of his desire to get his work done and done well. All I care about is that he puts my new windows in properly. The only thing that matters is that I hired him and I would recommend him to others. If Hewitt really believed sexuality belonged in the workplace they would honor heterosexuality with the same investment of time and effort. The fact that they ignore straights proves they are merely shoving homosexuality in your face. It may be an old comment, but it continues to be the proof. Hewitt's effort to promote homosexuality is sexual harassment defined. If you disagree, then walk up to your gardener, contractor, baby sitter, nanny, or plumber today and tell them you want to celebrate their sexual preferences. See how stupid you feel.
