In Reply To: "...it seems that the brightest and best qualified with the best attitudes DON't usually end up in the corner offices..." "...a whole lot of people seem upset. Why? " based on what -- the posts here? If you believe any of this crap, or that there are a whole lot of people, you are putting way too much credence into this board. It's populated mostly by jealous losers. There are billions of pages in the internet, millions of boards. Do a search and see how many other forums you can find with these same messages. You won't find many if any. It's all here because it's cheap and easy. No serious employment-related post stands a chance. This is the loser's corner and they have plenty of spray paint and it's free and they don't have anything better to do so they spew here. That's fine and that's their right ... but for heaven's sake, don't fall for it. The big mystery is why The Vault even exists. Every time one of the losers suggests to someone that they get their resume out there, they recommend Monster.
Message: I don't think that everyone who posts here is just a "jealous loser." People are upset with the company because the company has engaged in a lot of double-speak for the last four years. For an example check the archived source postings on the free lunch. 10 months ago we were "committed to maintaining and even enhancing the free food program." Hewitt isn't worse than all the other companies out there (no matter what we say that we believe). It's worse than some and better than many. My issue with Hewitt is that the company's policies seem to be zeroing in on making my life difficult (Adding cost for lunches... yes no one gets free lunches but it's still an added cost, redefining my role to remove most of the industry-valuable elements... unless I want to work in a call-center my whole life, paying less for my benefits this year... Not just letting me pick up the extra cost but actually paying less for them, Cutting back on staffing via attrition and refusing to backfill roles... causing me to work many more hours or accept that we will fail our client in some of our execution because I don't have time to manage it all, giving my CEO a 400% raise in 4 years while I have to struggle for 4%). There are a long list of things that the company has done that make it seem as though Hewitt's "out to get" me. I continue to be a top performer in my role as recognized by my manager, my cluster manager, my delivery group manager, and many members of leadership at the company (Even Dale has given me an "attaboy" over a project I was involved in). I'm certainly not a loser... just unhappy with the way things have changed. Thanks for blindly characterizing me.
