In Reply To: The ESPP plan suggestion was just that...a suggestion. I personally don't need it; but I wasn't thinking of myself. I was thinking about the employee population as a whole. So, the absense of such a plan has no real direct bearing on my "engagement". Besides, I already have a few shares of HEW; that's enough for me. I do enough on daily basis to keep my self "engaged" (I really hate this buzzword - I like "satisfied" better because it's direct and honest). I don't rant and rave at the office and go out of my way to bring everyone else down. I save all that for The Vault, mainly for your reading pleasure. I have enough survival skill developed over the years working at various companies to help me get through my daily work environment (wherever that may be). Talking to my manager is pointless, because there is only so much he can do; I recognize that. He's not incompetent (far from it); but, Corporate has his hands tied on a lot of things. No sense blaming him for the restrictions placed on him by Dale & Co. As far as I'm concerned, his situation isn't that much different from my own. We don't like what's been going on here these past few years, but we do what we can to get by. I seriously doubt Dale and Bryan would take any suggestions from me regarding their communication styles seriously. They would respond to those suggestions in much the same way you just did - by pissing all over them and twisting them around to make them examples of failings on my part. Their leadership style is more dictator-like than most folks care to admit. Their more concerned about convincing people to go along with their ideas and "trust them" rather than honestly soliciting real feedback, especially if it's stuff they don't want to hear. You really think senior leaders care about your "thoughts" being sent to them all the time? Anyone can delete junk mail. I have a more realistic look at our competition than you think. We used to be light years ahead of them. But, they are catching up VERY fast! And, if we're so wonderful, and our stock is relatively cheap, why not just acquire Hewitt instead of trying to reinvent the wheel? This sort of thing happens all the time in many industries; ours is no exception. I have a more realistic look at our competition because I don't underestimate them. I'm living in reality, and the reality is the current state of affairs at Hewitt cannot continue for any long period of time. Something has to give. If you don't like what I have to say, then ignore it. Move on. Go chear on Hewitt someplace else. Maybe read an uplifting posting on The Source about how we're positioned for long-term growth. Apparently, my postings on this public board really bother you. Why? Why do you care how "disengaged" I am? Why do you insist that I refocus my energy to do something more positive? Why do you care? Why do you feel compelled to respond to every negative post I churn out? Why do you feel compelled to defend Hewitt like one would defend his/her own religion? My negative posts are not going to bring the firm down, nor are they going to influence anyone in leadership to take action; these are just bits of internet graffiti - who cares? Why do you care? Why do you think you must counteract these messages? Do you think you efforts will make a diffence to Hewitt? Does anyone at Hewitt even know about these specific postings? Do they care? You give these things more credit than they deserve.
