There are still some great people working here and some great teams along with all the pain. Some of us enjoy the people we work with a great deal and that makes it rewarding to come here even if you know that you are preparing to leave.
I (not speaking for anyone else here) would/have recommend it to my friends as a possibility to pursue along with other openings - with a caution that they might need to keep their eyes out for other opportunities even if they do get this one. New hires are least likely to get laid off and they will have more learning opportunities than they might in other places because of all the restructuring going on. Hewitt has always expected their people to find things out for themselves - no one ever got all the training they needed just handed to them (that I know of). They still have a preference for hiring the best and the brightest so they expect new hires to act that way.
Hewitt is certainly better than some of the other places I have worked too even with the current level of pain. Mostly because of the people here, maybe in spite of the upper management direction.
You read a lot of venting on this site, but most of us are much more pleasant in person. Those of us who are still here are in shock, but most are still working to do the best we can for our clients - personal pride and responsibility. We are just horribly disappointed in the way these changes are being handled and miss our former co-workers who were laid off by ambush.
Don't know when it might change on the Macro level, but on the Micro level, our teams, clients, and co-workers still make it worthwhile.
Disclaimer: Not a company stooge - this is just how I feel on a personal level. I know there are those who will disagree. Maybe I enternalized Benefit of the Doubt too much, but these are my feelings in the face of the horror that is infecting the entire company. |

We're obviously watching different movies (my workdays are hell now) but I respect your opinion if it's honest.
I honestly would say nice things if I could- this was my dream job- turned into a nightmare.
But I'm gonna keep bashing till things get better- be forwarned.
