In Reply To: If you directed as much energy to serving our clients as you do to surfing here and finding more negative garb, we'd all be in a better place. We need to get seriously focused on the future and the quality of service we deliver to our clients or we're all out of jobs. And that starts with me and you. If we all wait to "implode", then we're on a course for failure. I really don't see the point of worrying about our "suitors" or anyone other than our clients right now -- positive energy breeds positive energy and that means broader thinking and ideas and creatvity = happy clients and more $$ for us all. Get on board!!
Message: Hewitt doesn't recognize or reward broader thinking or creative ideas. Any more $$$ earned by the firm would goes straight to executive leadership, and whatever would be left would go to shareholders. Worrying about suitors? Hell, I would EMBRACE a hostile takeover! Anything to remove the dead weight at the executive level is the only real first step toward salvaging what's left of Hewitt. My attitude (either positive or negative) won't make much of a difference if these guys continue to undermine any small, incremental progress individual associates make over the long term. I refuse to put Hewitt's needs in front of my life and my family in order to make a bunch of overprivileged, overpriced corporate fatcats wealthier at my expense. Hard work at Hewitt is rewarded with layoffs, offshoring, broken marriages, estranged children, and deteriorating health. So, the only solution is to work just hard enough not to get fired. That way, there's an appropriate balance between work needs, personal needs, and family needs. It's called standing up for yourself.
