In Reply To: India's quality is better than we started out when we first started doing TBA implementations in 1998. Our quality siucks to this day on certain clients like Honey hell. The Indians will be up to speed pretty soon. Granted they are not there quality wise right now but iys all due to the learning curve. These employees in India arent stupid, they are more motivated then the Processing analysts we had.
Message: Teams are seeing issues that would have NEVER been acceptable if the work were being performed in the States. Your comments regarding "getting up-to-speed" are based on your own delusions, and certainly not facts. How do you overcome a learning curve when the turnover in Gurgaon is WORSE than it is in the US? At least there is good reason for the turnover in the US (crappy raises, understaffed teams, and pay cuts related to increased HC costs and meals). In India, high turnover is the NORM, as the young brats over there have even higher expectations of what they are owed than the ones hitting the labor market in the Status. Our onsite SME's witness the workers in Gurgaon regularly playing ping pong and watching cricket games on TV rather than learning how to be the leaders in the world of employee benefits. Not only do Indian workers leave faster than we do, they don't even give notice! When is the last time that you got 2 weeks and a transition plan from Gurgaon? Answer: NEVER! Our team has learned about people leaving on multiple occassions by the work SIMPLY NOT GETTING DONE. When a US team member investigates, they soon find out that their Gurgaon "teammate" decided to leave and not provide notice. This is not the exception to the rule but the NORM for most client teams in the current model. For all of those who claim that we are building depth in India, please show me some facts. We have been using resources over there for 2 years now, and I am even LESS impressed today than before they cut US staffing to ridiculously low levels.
