In Reply To: But it's also embarrassing to hear that word has gotten out about how bad things are here. How do Hewitt leaders respond to people outside the firm who bring up this stuff? How, as a CEO, could you explain to other HR leaders the significant deterioration in morale, the massive exodus of talent leaving the firm, and the overall negative impression other HR professionals have about the working environment of your own company? Even ignoring the blatantly obvious and lying through your teeth would become apparent and pathetic after a while. This is extremely embarrassing...especially for a firm that used to be the best in the HR field and that boasts (even today) about "making the world a better place to work".
Message: Before a bunch of Hewitt corporate tools respond to my post with some crass comments like "oh, it's just a bunch of whinny twentysomethings and other malcontents just stirring up trouble for the firm", take note that other firm's message boards don't have nearly the volume of nasty postings that Hewitt's message board currently contains. Nor is it a conspiracy of a few "troublemakers" cluttering up a message board for kicks. No one in the HR profession is talking about the nosedive in morale at Towers Perrin, the exodus of talent at Mercer, or the negative impressions of the work environment at Watson Wyatt. I'm not saying that these firms don't have their fair share of problems; I'm saying that Hewitt's problems are so pervasive that even other firms are sayings to themselves "wow! we may suck, but at least we're not Hewitt"! We have sunk to a new low...
