Let me start off by saying that I left Hewitt about 2 months again and it has been one of the best moves that I have ever made. I am not an advocate for the company, but find some of these post comical. People talking about averaging 55-80 hours a week may benefit from taking a time management class or learn a little about delegation. I will agree that in my time with Hewitt, over 5 years in a very challenging position, there were times that I worked 55-60 hours or more. That being said, I was also in a position that allowed me to observe the work being done by SOME CSPM's, CSUM's and up. It was very easy to see those who were able to focus on work, have a plan and carry out their plans. They all worked 40-50 hours and were out for the day. The others who worked the 55-80 hours spent as much time telling everyone about all they work they had as they did in completing the actual work. Before you start blaming everything on Hewitt, maybe you should take a closer look at your own work habits. |

I'm a CSPM on my way out who has been putting in over 65 hours per week for the last year. I was registered for the time management class when they offered it, but had to cancel because I didn't have TIME to attend. I'm on the phones several hours each day and putting out client fires the rest of the day. I am answering emails at night when I go home and doing project work on the weekends because the associates on my team aren't willing to work anymore OT. I feel like I'm running as fast as I can in quicksand. I can't take it anymore. If someone I work with wants to say I have a time management problem, fine. I don't even have the energy to care. I am all used up. I'm giving my notice this week. This ship can sink without me.
