I got put on an 8 week work improvement plan after my end of year review. I put in 40 hrs a week max - at 41k/yr, i'm not gonna kill myself for these guys - so i expected the WIP. My question is whether anyone actually survives a WIP? Is it just a formality before they fire you? The rumor is that it doesn't matter at all what you do after being placed on a work improvement plan, you're as good as gone... i hope somebody in a position to know can shed some light on this... Thanks |

And keep your present role. It just severely hampers your growth for at least another 2 - 3 years. Even if you survive the WIP, you are seen as damaged goods and it is hard to overcome that perception.
