I'm not sure if you are interested in direct patient care, or more of a research/statistics type health care job.
If you are interested in direct patient care I would recommend going to a 2 year Technical/Junior College and pursuing something in the Radiologic Sciences(your math background would be good for this) such as a X-Ray Technician, Nuclear Medicine Technician, MRI or CAT Scan OPerators. There is a shortage of these workers, the starting salary ranges from $14 to $20 per hour, and you are guaranteed to get a job(because of the shortage).
Also, If you still have some physical stamina, and don't mind working around body fluids, and such, I would also recommend the 2 year college nursing programs. Nurses are in severe demand, starting salaries are usually $3500 sign on bonus (for a 2 year work commitment), and $20 to $30 per hour STARTING salaries. It's no cake walk though and nursing work is tough.
With your Math background, I would recommend being a X-Ray Technician. The programs dont cost much, it's not as physicially demanding as being a nurse is, and you usually get good benefits at the clinics and hospitals, and the money is decent. |

You may also want to look into being a Respiratory Therapist. These programs are offered at 2 year technical schools. The work isn't really bad, and the pay is in the 30k to 36k range. I don't know alot about the job market demand for Respiratory Therapist though.
