I am wondering if anyone knows good resources/websites/etc. to find an introduction to/info about/opinions on health care issues in America, health care delivery systems, the possibility of socializing medicine, the future of medicine, etc. I am clued out but want to learn. |

PBS had a nice little special called critical care, I believe, by Hedley Smith or something like that. They had transcripts on the PBS web site. A good history of medicine book is The Socialization of American Medicine by Paul Starr. And as far as current ways to change things or the cutting edge, you can look up reports by the Institute of Medicine (they talk about high mortality, medical errors and all that) and I'm somewhat partial to Demanding Medical Excellence by Michael Millenson (sp?), a more systems/TQM approach.
Hope that helps
