In Reply To: but completely unbelievable. I like the surname is Nurse idea. That was brilliant. Oddly enough, I looked at the times people posted. And you and zoziggy posted messages back to back which is rare for this message board. And you both signed off with the "it's just my 2 cents bit". You are probably the same person. And zoziggy encouraged people not to go to medical school. You are a phony. Write to me at brahmin_doctor@yahoo.com. Your e-mail better not be a yahoo or hotmail account either. Anyone can create a Rob_Nurse@hotmail in a matter of seconds. I will be fair and confirm your identity on here without giving away your private information.
Message: Hello, Please allow me to help out just a little here. As a friend, (although some days I question the sanity of that decision) of the aforementioned Dr. Nurse, I have to inform you that he is "for real". I met him when I was studying for board exams and while he may seem at times haughy, arrogant, and generally obnoxious, he is an m.d. He does have a master's degree in public health. He actually recruits students at a top two institution. He did do a fellowship in health policy and believe it or not his last name is Nurse ( and don't think he doesn't catch hell for that on the medical ward)!! He got an MPH in health policy and administration and worked immediately after med school for a consulting group. For any of you who may think this is atypical please allow me to assure you that it is not. Many, many medical students get master's degrees in public health while doing their medical degrees. At my medical institution it was encouraged in the form of a joint degree program and I would say that in my year approximately 12 students from a class of 105 participated in the program. Additionally, just for the record those of us who are in medicine use all kind of terminology , including slang, believe it or not. So in an effort to validate that yes he does exist and yes those things that he mentioned are true I decided to just lend a hand here. This is not to say that I agree with any or all of what he has said, however just to allow you to continue your discussion without the barrier of "questionable identity" posing an obstacle. Please carry on ... Good day, Dr. King
