Hi everyone..I have a question for you and I'm hoping that someout out there can give me some information. I am 22 years old and dissatisfied with my present occupation. I know that I have much more potential and I feel like I am not taking advantage of it. I am worried about going back to school, though. I am intrested in Psychology but I don't know how much schooling is required. What is the employement rate? What are the pros and cons? If anyone would like to share some information with me, it would be greatly appreciated. |

Hello,
In answer to your question, psychology is a very broad field and it depends what exactly you want to do in it as to what degree you need. For example, in most states, if you want to be a therapist who works in private practice unsupervised you need a Ph.D. If you want to work under supervision, at a day treatment program for the chronically mentally ill, you only need a B.A. A good site to visit to get more info is www.apa.org.
