Whatever you do please do not waste your time going to Rad Tech School.
There is no money involved. And you get no respect from the physician's you will be working with.
It is a horrible, nasty, dirty job.
Do anything but this.
I did it but fortunately I was able to go into business with a Radiologist. We opened an MRI Facility and I'm making a shitload of money -- And I mean a shitload --- 300-400k a year.
This does not happen to many Tech's. I was just lucky. I was a Rad Tech for 3 years and decided to go for my MBA. I'm just finishing it up and now I don't need it.

I hear there is a difference in the amount of money made between x-ray and sono. What is your opinion on this and how does one get into the MRI Biz!? Also, what part of the country do you live? I am a new yorker in my mid 40's looking for a career in the health field. I do not have much money or the time to afford legnthy training and thought that sono tech would be a good way to go.
