Seeking advice & opinions. I received my MD from Stanford a year ago, matched to my first-choice residency, then declined the position. I would strongly prefer to work in business.
In the last year of investigating other options I've found that consulting requires similar hours (but provides 4x the $$). Investment banks are not interested because I lack an MBA, and VC firms offer only an entry level "internship."
I am not eager to begin at absolute ground zero again, nor does the idea of more school sound appealing. Therefore, I am considering returning to residency at least for one year to get my license and have a "fall back position." Any ideas? |

I am in Med School currently and am trying to decide if I should do a combined MD/MBA. I was wondering what you decided to do (residency or work?) And how did you go about finding job opportunities while you were applying for your residency?
