"I'm an MD turned law student and as soon as I graduate with my JD I'm going back to clinical medicine. I thought being a lawyer would be interesting but that's only so if you like doing paperwork, understanding detailed regulations, etc."
You had to endure law school to learn that the legal profession is full of paperwork and detailed regulations? Are you kidding me? You must be booksmart because you obviously lack common sense.

When and if you graduate from "Wash U" you'll understand the need to broaden your experience a little. You obviously are a first or second year student (if not a pre med still in undergrad) and haven't seen the ugly side of medicine yet. When you have been out practicing a number of years like I have you'll see that the real practice of medicine isn't as glamorous as on ER or other shows (which I'm sure you watch).
