Are you saying you DON'T want large barriers to entry into the medical profession? Do you want some idiot who barely can read and write to be taking care of your family? For god's sake, think about what you're saying!!! It's neither avarice nor arrogance. It's rational.
Clearly you have a bone to pick with doctors, but I think you're using some pretty poor arguments to support your stand. I'm sorry that you're so angry, but making up stories about physicians isn't going to solve anything.

The actions of the AMA are notoriously anti-competitive. The barriers to entry are often arbitrary and do not reflect ability. In Australia, where I'm from, to get in to certain specialties you have to wait for a practicioner to either retire or die. I think that more doctors would alleviate the shortage crisis and ensure that, through competition, medical service improves.
