Because you have had comprehensive physiology, anatomy, and microbiology education you might consider medical transcription at home. This takes much more than typing skills and mastery of English writing and grammar. Even with medical terminology courses, only someone with understanding of body systems, pharmaceuticals, and how everything relates is able to successfully transcribe. There is much need for transcriptionists. After over twenty years in medical offices, including f/o, b/o, billing, and management, this is working out quite well for me. And I would not have been able to step right into this without the education that is usually required for RN programs. Cost of start-up is minimal. |
