Recently at Arrowhead Regional medical center in California the acting Ceo decided to make a name for himself. While other hospitals are increasing their security programs due to the shootings at a hospital in Anaheim California, Our hospital has decided to cut the program to save a small amount of money. The program has been cut so bad that there is at more times than not only 1 officer to cover the entire 75 acre area. This is viewed in the industry as very dangerous to staff and visitors. The name that this acting CEO will make for himself is FOOL. If safety is an issue for staff and patients alike it is adviseable to stay away from a hospital that does not care about the safety of its patients and staff but cares about the almighty buck. The inevitable has happened. Due to the severe cutback of security personnel at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center three persons were sexually molested on 11/5/99. The first, a fourteen year old juvenile was approached by a man impersonating a doctor. She was touched about the head and breast areas and told to disrobe for further examination.
Shortly after, another woman was fondled on another floor by the same individual and finally a third young woman was fondled and lied defenseless while her attacker exposed himself to her.
This individual was able to move freely about the hospital, enter patient rooms and molest innocent women without being detected because of the critical lack of security.
When news media flocked to the scene on 11/6/99, Interim Director lied blatantly to reporters informing them that security was being increased when in fact he has caused the layoff of over sixty-five percent of the total security forces to maximize the impact of his budget cuts within the last thirty days.
A recent survey has shown that employees are upset, fearful and angry with the recent cuts and total disregard for public and employee safety and security.
The safety and security of everyone at the new county medical center is being placed in serious jeopardy for the sake of a few dollars. If Mr. wants to make a name for himself, he should try to make it a noteworthy one, not one of shame!
