I have completed a Harvard residency and am currently in fellowship training, same institution. Physicians are heavily recruited by McKinsey, but I have been informed that this is the business, rather than lab, side of physician-technician, by colleagues who have recently entered the management consulting world. Any thoughts on a more efficient entry to the business world? |

Depends on what sort of business career you're interested in. If you want to still use your healthcare background, there are options at pharm companies (Wyeth is particularly good, as you can eventually move laterally into American Home Products if you want).
Management consulting is a big leap from medicine... you won't use your clinical skills at all.
You might also go through HBS's career development office. They certainly will have contacts and the experience in placing other advanced-degree candidates in positions.
