I am a dissatisfied fourth year resident in a top general surgery residency, graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School. Considering a career change to no longer be a doctor.
I am having great difficulty finding resources.
Is anyone aware of a good career guide for doctors looking for alternative careers (e.g. something other than being a doctor)? Most career guides are far too general in this area to be useful.
Also, to make sure I understand the field of surgery correctly, is anyone aware of a detailed salary survey for medical specialties, preferably by region? The basic salary resources on the web are far too general (national averages for surgeons, for example). Anything that is much more specific would be greatly appreciated.
Also, anything that anyone else can suggest would be great. For example, the name of a top tier headhunter in this area?
