I noticed your message said you worked in the NYC offices. I currently work at a smaller tier accounting firm as well and was considering the move to GT. I noticed on GT's website that they have two city offices and 1 Long Island office. Can you tell me what the atmosphere is like at the LI office? I currently live on LI and that office would be my preference from a commuting stand point. Could you also comment on what the social life is like at GT. For example, at my current firm, we often have pizza parties and icecream socials on a monthly basis. Does GT do anything like that and if so, what are some of your favorite events? |

GT actually has 4 offices in the NYC-area....One in Melville, one in midtown Manhattan, one in downtown Manhattan and one in Edison, NJ.
I actually work out of the Long Island office, but I've been working on a large Midtown job lately.
Long Island has an office size of about 45 people - 4 assurance Partners and 2 tax Partners. It's an easy going place with some very diverse clients - split 50/50 between public and private companies. The Melville office has one or two social activities - mainly happy hours - on a monthly basis. The NYC office staff gets out a little more for happy hours in the city.
The 4 offices act like one big office - so if you want to work on the occasional city job, you can. If not, you just stick with the LI clients.
