I was under the impression that non-NYC office analysts get meals included while in NYC for training. I heard this was commonplace, and know for a fact that other banks (UBS, CSFB) provide a meal allowance of about $65 a day.
Anyways, if you take a look at 2006 Expense Policy During Training PDF (click on Checklist in the GS University page, and under the TRaining Details section, it's called "Expense Policy"). Anyone know why GS doesn't, or maybe why GS is not providing meal allowances this year?
