guys! I start in the middle office at one of the tier 1 IBD in london, as I didnt graduate from a so called "red brick" university so cudnt apply directly to front office, but bloody keen on making my way upto the trade desk as early as possible....but must confess vent got much idea abt what "exactly" I want to do, but am really keen on derivatives, you guys got any advise on that?? please feel free to shoot!

try and liaise as much as possible with traders....see wat they specialize in, or work on...see what interests you the most....you will have to do extensive networking, having said that must remind you that its probably much difficult than getting in directly to the front office which you couldnt!
