In Reply To: I really disagree with the previous reply. My qualification? I was GS Summer Intern and will be working for them as a graduate (as an analyst). I don't think you have to go to MBA school at all. Certainly not if you're wanting to be an analyst. Indeed, I think the competition is harder if you apply as an associate with no banking experience. This is because associates are significantly more expensive to employ and if you have no banking experience you are essentially an expensive analyst... In essence: Use your Wall St buddies to get some second opinions. Email the recruiting people in London/NYC and ask their opinion. Be sure that you want the job and be double sure why you want it. And then just apply. There is no big science behind how these banks recruit, contrary to what people say on these boards. They want bright, smart hardworking people who know what they want and are clear why they want it. They want people who they can work next to for 12 hours a day without getting pissed off. If you've got all that, everything else is secondary.
Message: I appreciate it, this is the first substantial response I have gotten.
