Message: for summer internships, getting an interview at goldman is really not that hard. i don't go to a target school and was able to do my final rounds back in early january. the key is the find an alum at your school and start talking to them. then , after speaking with him and maybe a couple other analysts he refers you to, start asking these people to forward your resume to recruiting. also ask them who the recruiting contacts are and send them emails too. it takes a lot of talks and emails, but if you do the work you will get an interview. be prepared for an easy first round, and a very techinical secound round. looking back, my advice would be to NOT mention accounting on your resume even if you've taken a few classes because your interviewer may starting quizzing you on some ridiculous accounting stuff in final rounds.
