In Reply To: What's considered a good enough undergrad GPA to land you an interview for a summer analyst job at Goldman? I mentioned earlier that I had a 3.71, and a poster told me to give up now. Also, I go to Princeton (econ major). Thanks.
Message: You have a very good GPA and are from good school so there's a great chance you will be selected to be interviewed. I just got a job with Goldman and I have an embarrassing GPA and am from an ok school. I don't know why they picked up my application from the hundreds of other Ivy Leaguers but they did and I was able to go onto some challenging interviews. I didn't even get the original position I interviewed for but was passed onto another department. However, I actually like this second position better. It's honestly all about the luck of the draw but you can better your chances. Really make your resume searchable using keywords to help weed it out from others. I think that helped me get calls from other companies as well. No matter what anyone says, just go for it.
