In Reply To: I'm a junior in college and am looking into summer internships at Goldman. To apply through my college's career services, you must submit an unofficial transcript along with the online application. What's the purpose of the transcript along with the resume? Does the person deciding whether you get a first round interview look at your actual grades on the transcript or just your GPA? And if you make it to a first round interview, does the interviewer care about what's on the transcript as long as the GPA and major on it matche the GPA and major on your resume? I ask because I am an econ major, and although I have a strong overall GPA (3.71) at a top school (Princeton), my grades in my econ classes are all over the place (ranging from B- to A+). Will anyone care about my poor performance in some of these classes, even if my overall GPA is strong?
Message: Hi, 3.71 is not really strong enough if you are applying for GS. Maybe you have something else to compensate? Like extra school works?
