I am a soon to be MBA graduate applying to MC firms and have a question regarding resumes. I have heard that consulting recruiters like to see almost everything but the kitchen sink on one's resumes. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks in advance. |

Pretty much, but don't go crazy. We're not interested in all those papers you published during your phD years. (not "you", but you get my drift).
Do write a chronological resume. Don't write a functional one. Meaning? We don't care about your "accomplishments"; that is, those generic "increased productivity by x%". Rather, we want to see what you did with each position. Be specific, using words like: designed, implemented, evaulated, developed, managed x number of consultants. That sort of thing. Project summaries are good if you are havnig a difficult time summarizing. List which industries your clients have been in.
Good luck, and don't listen to those resume centers. Some of the worst resumes I've seen have been written by those places!
