While Sales maybe King at GE, marketing is certainly not... at least not yet - it is being pushed by Immelt, but it has a long way to go. If you are looking for a BD job then either ECLP or RMLP will be better suited for you than a finance roll. However, both are new programs and both are still working out the kinks. Regardless of which program you choose, remember that they are ROTATIONAL programs meaning that you will move in and out of different businesses (and within GE Commercial Finance) that means that you might do a rotation in EFS or CFS and then have to leave for your next rotation. If you have your heart set on a particular business and think you can get into an open sales or risk spot there, then I would apply directly to the business. Otherwise I would suggest ECLP over RMLP. |

I've heard that marketing has a long way to go at GE. I was very surprised considering the success of the company. Consumer Finance seems to have it right. Why the disparity between this business and others? It seems that GE is open to adopting best practices across businesses. However, in my short time there I have noticed that a lot of time is wasted on turf battles.
