In Reply To: I am going final round in EMEA and I am also 31. So don't worry about your age. It's actually an advantage. The ECLP is not a training program, so you won't be back to basics. It's more like an internal consulting program where you will be asked to come up with ideas and solutions to develop business for GE. GE still has a very industrial culture and senior management wants to change that. You will pretty much be on your own during the ECLP. Don't expect a mentor or senior person to be behind you all the time to help you. You job is precisely to motivate and unite people around you during a project and deliver. That's leadership. If you're entrepreneurial and take initiative, you'll have fun and have the chance to have an impact on the business you're in. If not, you'll feel like no one care for you. As for salary, I have heard that salaries in EMEA are higher than in the US. In the US, GE is so prestigious that they can afford to be cheap on compensation. In Europe, if they want to attract talented professionals, they have to pay for them. This is also why defection rate is higher in the US as some people go back to the Street to make more money (since you're not bonus eligible during the program). GE rewards loyalty. Compensation will grow as you stay in the company.
Message: Thanks for more information on ECLP and happy to note that it is not a training program unlike what others had said. Gave my test today, did really well in English but think screwed up in Math. Time pressure plus out of practice was the cause for downfall. Lets see what happens. Cost of living in EMEA also warrants higher pay package whereas in USA, the place they will put us for 2 years are low cost areas. Imagine, louisville, Kentucky, Cleveland, Ohio, Waukisha, Wisconsin are places where they will keep us for 6 month each. These places are not New York or London for that matter so 70-90k will go quite far. sublimal Sublimal
