Hey Viking,
I have talked to several people that are inside the program and this is what they told me.
- the program is young (2 years) but increasingly well recognized as a talent pool. the ECLP is a top management initiative to turn GE into a marketing and financial services powerhouse;
- projects you are placed on can be either good or bad. If they're bad, you should complain to HR and they will try to deal with it. Not guaranteed but they will try.
- what you will get after the ECLP depends entirely on you. If during the program, you showed initiative and built your internal network, you will get a great position. if you just go with the flow, it'll be harder.
- as i mentioned in another thread, the eCLP is like an internal consulting program. You will be given a project, a computer and cell phone and you will have to make your way through the entity where you are assigned to complete the project. They want to assess how you take initiative, unite people around a project, deliver solutions, etc... The good thing is that you have no boundaries in how you want to work on your project. The downside is that senior management will not support you. That's how they assess your leadership skills.
- i don't have the exact number for salaries but they will be definitely in line with your previous salary. If you were making EUR100K before the program, I don't think they will give you EUR50K. You are not bonus eligible during the ECLP. As for benefits, it depends on the division and location where you work.
- age/profile: varied but i am also 31 and have close to 5 years of post MBA experience.
