Another question for you...Are people from non finance background accepted for FMP program. And even if they are how do they fare vis-a-vis finance guys. Is it really hard for them to cope up in FMP |

Hi there,
I am also an Engineering (mechanical)major currently in my junior year at a top ranking state school. from these previous posts and word of mouth, ive been hearing time and time about GE's financial MP and how people in these programs end up in the top MBA's but very few in the other fields i.e Operations MP or the Edison program seem go on to the top MBA's. does it mean that these other fields are really that less lucrative in that aspect, i would sincerly appreciate your thoughts on this HBS 2003, I am very interested in GE's managment programs but as an engineer I am not sure I would fit the requirement for FMP (any thoughts on that)? The edison engineering program and the Operations program are 2 fields that fit my background and also seem very interesting, however I am quite determined to persue a MBA later on in life and would be reluctant to commit to engineering or operations if they do infact hinder the chances for an MBA candidate aiming for a top school
another question I had was that after looking into various leadership programs such as lockheed and GE etc for the most part they do seem similiar, i was wondering if anyone who has prior knowledge could touch on the differences. the pro and cons of both leadership programs
