Message: I found the information from the initial poster extremely interesting as I had interviewed for a Director position with Finaplex in Mid-November '05. My position would have been based in the NY office and although I was given a written and verbal offer in Dec. '05, I was awaiting a new written offer due to some changes I was able to negotiate. However, at the very last minute (this week) the offer was rescinded because the CEO felt that my position was not ready to be filled (product isn't ready). I was completely shocked at the news that the job was put on an "indefinite hold" and thankfully I had not yet resigned from my present job. However, I am very disappointed because a lot of time and effort was put into working out my move to Finaplex from my current employer. Has this ever happened to anyone else that you know of? Does the CEO normally go against hiring decisions made by his senior managers? I thought this was a done deal, only to find it was a waste of time and I can't help but feel so disappointed. Any feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
