Does stockbroker experience help toward IB positions?

Title says it all really. I have a Math Undergrad degree with a minor in Econ. Short of getting an MBA, if I were to work as a stockbroker for a couple of years would it increase my chances of getting into investment banking or are the two fields unrelated?
