In Reply To: I stumbled across this board recently (and noticed that there seemed to be a general lack of activity). Hopefully, I can help to change that. Background - I have 10 years experience in commercial lending (having worked my way up from credit analyst to commercial loan officer). I have also worked for a variety of employers (leasing company, development finance company, bank). If anyone is considering commercial lending or fairly new to commercial lending and has any questions, I will be glad to do my best to answer them.
Message: Thanks in advance for offering your advice up front, it's very refreshing! I have an interview with a middle market broker next week for a RE analyst position. My undergrad is a B.S. in Finance/Real Estate, and I have worked in residential for the last 2 years as a loan officer. I'm looking to break into commercial RE-but I have no experience. These are my questions: 1. What type of interview(s) should I expect? i.e. behavioral questions, case studies, financial modeling exercises, brain teasers? 2. How can I present myself the best way possible? I want to LEARN, my brain has been slowly dying while working in my current occupation. Thanks!
