I have an offer for a research analyst position from McKinsey in their corporate finance and strategies group in New York. I would like to hear from all of you who knows a lot more about this industry than I do. Specifically:
1. What's the difference between research analyst and consultant? I was told this position is different from a business analyst. For reference, this is the posted development path:

2. How different is working in this group than other more traditional management consultant roles? how about difference between this and corporate finance roles in ibanks?
Any other comments also welcome!
Thank you all very much
