Hi:
I have a PhD in electrical engineering with 10 years of industry experience in technology.Currently, I am getting an MBA (executive program) from an Ivy League. I am extremely interested in making a foray in ER in Fidelity. I will appreciate if people could share their inputs/advices in getting the foot in the door. Thanks |

Good news and bad news. First the good news, as the fund performance had struggled a little bit in the past few years, Fidelity is hiring a lot more analysts now. Second, the bad news ... it does not make it any easier to get into Fidelity as an analyst. In general, you have to get through 3 rounds of interviews. From my own experience, I met with a VP and a HR person in the first round. For round 2, I met with 4 analysts ... still nothing technical though. For round 3, I was given the name of the company they wanted to research on 5 days before the interview. The last "interview" was actually a 90 minutes presentation. Of course, the analysts stopped me and asked me tons of questions in between.
Interviews were tough but once you are an analyst, life is actually not bad! Good luck!
