Quantitative Analyst ?? 0601325 Description Fidelity??s Fixed Income Division is one of the country??s leading fixed income managers with over $400 billion in U.S. and Canadian dollar denominated bond and money market assets managed by a staff of 100 investment professionals. Resources are focused on providing fundamental, quantitative and macroeconomic analysis. Research is solely for the fixed income funds and is made available only to Fidelity Investment professionals. The group is located in Merrimack, NH, about 50 minutes north of Boston. Objective: To analyze and model fixed income securities. To work with portfolio managers and traders in the investment process of managing Fidelity??s mutual funds and trust accounts for the Fixed Income Division. Major responsibilities: Development of quantitative models to value securities and portfolios. Engagement with the PMs and traders on the trading desk and taking part in security selection. Take the initiative and leadership to contribute to the advancement of the investment process. Develop tools to analyze data and come up with new ways of assessing relative value opportunities in the market. Make investment recommendations and explain the rationale. Collaboration with other quantitative analysts and developers in the division. Explain complex concepts to non technical people. Publish the research methodologies and results in a way that is easy to understand. Be pragmatic about the approaches to modeling and push for their implementation into the portfolios. Qualifications Advanced degree in science , engineering or finance. Modeling experience and interest in investments is a big plus. Deep understanding of math /statistics is required. Specifically, proficiency in stochastic processes, linear algebra, optimization theory, numerical methods and statistical analysis is a must. Person should have very good interpersonal skills and be comfortable working in a team environment. Demonstrated experience / expertise in problem solving is required. Some programming experience in C, C++ or Excel VBA is helpful. Knowledge of Matlab, Splus and relational databases would be a plus as well.
