I got offer from both EY and PwC in Metro Washington DC area...
Salary are about the same.
But I badly need insight about promotion opportunities, coporate culture(they all talk about good stuff on company website anyways)...
I heard that EY is less conservative, yet kinda old-spirited. Is that true...? (I am a newly undergrad)
Why does everyone here choose EY over PwC or other big 4?
Thank you very very very much for answering!!! |

I think it all depends on where you feel like you would fit in the best. Did you like the people you met at both firms? You are going to be spending a lot of time with them so I feel it's important. As for the promotion patterns, EY generally promotes based on your service. So you can expect to be staff for 2-3 years, Senior 3-4 years and manager after 5 years. I am in Human Capital and we have meetings every couple of months to focus on our culture so there is an emphasis on corporate culture. I don't think you could go wrong with either firm you chose. Both EY and PWC were listed in the top 100 places to work in Fortune (or maybe is was Forbes) Magazine. I can't really comment on the less conservative since I've never worked at or with PWC, but I've also heard the same thing. Overall EY is a great place to work with many opportunities.
Hope this helps! Good luck!
