I am trying to find out if there are any companies who openly are willing to hire overweight people. I am so tired of going on interviews and seeing their eyes glaze over. I don't want to waste my time anymore.
I am a hardworking, loyal and competent clerical support person. The temp job employers I've had all expessed how great I am as an employee (no interviews before I started)but I think on interviews, there is a feeling that I must be lazy or stupid because of my weight, until I am "known". Are there any companies in Los Angeles (valley) that you may know that don't have a problem with it? I know LA is especially difficult unless your cute and thin. |

I hate to sound callous but if all you have to do is lose weight to secure a position then do it. As an African American I wish all I had to do is change one changeable aspect of myself in order for employers to see me differently. I agree the situation is sad, and should not happen, but it is one that you can change, and probably feel better about yourself in the long run.
