In Reply To: The problem is not AA, its that the majority of whites think that the color of their skin makes them inherently better candidates. They tend to think that what they lack in melanin, they make up for in smarts, dedication and overall polish. They fail to realize that we can actually be as qualified if not more qualified. All we are asking for is a level playing field, but that will NEVER happen so we need that next best thing, a systems that will MAKE you consider others. "Affirmative Action is not about discrimination, it's about representation"
Message: AA will not give you a level playing field. It will make others view you as inferior and in need of special preferences in order to compete. Wake Up, Man! Blacks can compete without the extra-help. Your thinking is rooted in thinking that you are dependant upon whites to give you success. Just go get it. It is there for the taking. The frustration most blacks feel when working for large institutions is also felt by whites. It is not racism, it is corporate America. Make your own destiny. 30 Years of AA has left its legacy in todays projects.
