With more and more non-English speakers surfing the web, the internet's address system will have to modernize to meet their needs. Currently, the internet address system only accepts Roman and Arabic domain names although almost twenty percent of internet users read languages that are not based on the Roman alphabet (Source: Industry Standard). Critics argue that the move towards multilingual internet addresses has been progressing too slowly and that the reliance on Romanized names has decreased the speed at which the world can access the web.
Do you think that we need a universal internet language? Do you think it should be English? Or should it be a technical language?
