I am very familiar with this, after having lived it for the last while at Deloitte...
a) You can negotiate with Deloitte as to when they will start your GC. I recommend you get it in writing and do not accept anything less than starting your GC within 1 year at the firm.
b) Deloitte WILL TRY EVERY POSSIBLE TRICK TO SLOW DOWN THE PROCESSING.

b. continued) Deloitte's goal is for your GC to take as long as possible, because they believe it will cause you to stay longer. I had to point out a different way of filing my GC that would save 4-5 years. This was 4 months ago; I am still trying to get an answer as to whether they will pursue this other way of filing.
C) Your raises WILL be less because they are filing your GC. I have this from the mouth of a partner who was on good terms with a fellow Deloitte employee.
I will be leaving Deloitte soon.
