In Reply To: I will know sometime next week what the actual offer DC makes me for the ny office...I was surprised when recruiter asked me to reveal accurate information about current base salary, bonus, etc. Isn't that too much of personal information & inappropriate to ask? also is it possible to really verify your current base salary, bonuses etc.? I just find it difficult to believe that at some point, the background agency will call my current employers HR or payroll dept, ask for my salary details & the HR or payroll actually reveals it... Any thoughts? Is this normal for experienced hires at DC?
Message: as far as i know every recurit has to reveal that. You also need to be truthful on all background checks -otherwise you risk being rejected. my assumption is that they are going to offer same or more than you make now - you can ask for market rate at the moment for your skills irrespective of what you made in your old job - you should be shooting for a 'fair' offer in my opinion. Remember if you are good you will get raises based on what you do...
