Were you with the Health & Life Sciences Practice at Accenture? Was your experience specific to your group or project...or was it the actual culture of the entire consulting group?
Do you mind giving some more details about your background - education, experiece, how much you were offered as a manger. As well as how long were you with Accenture before moving to Deloitte?
Any help would be appreciated as I am undecided as to what I am going to do. |

I started work for Accenture as a contract consultant in Change Mgmt. and Training. My biggest gripe with Accenture is that they are about as unethical a company as I've come across is my 20+ years of working. My first project they overran the budget by 400% which was nothing more than greed. The second project I relocated to work the project and the day I was to start was informed that they'd overrun yet another project and had walked off the job in a contract dispute. That little adventure cost me about $3500.00 out of my own pocket. Accenture called me yet again for another project in the city where I live. I did 6 interviews including the Managing Partner. Mind you that this particular project is a billion dollar project and I'm one of maybe 12 people that had the combination of extensive experience of the propietary software system and the federal regs related to the system. Accenture kept putting me on hold for the position for about 3 months. They finally came back and offered me another Manager position at 10K less. I agreed to the position, reluctantly, and was mailed contracts. I renegotiated my contracts prior to their arrival and a second set of contracts was mailed. Once I'd received, signed and resent the contracts (and turned down other offers) Accenture backed out of the contracts.
My background is in Change Mgmt/Instructional Design in both Government and Private sector for financial, HR and propriatary systems. A combined 15 years of experience. I was first offered 95K and then 85K.
