The HR model for the Specialist track is still being refined as it is new and the firm hasn't had a lot of experience running practitioners through its gauntlet. I don't know the scale.
The general idea is that those who choose the Specialist route will not be eligible to become Director/Partner and will have a salary-based income (and the range will be less than Directors so as not to compete against that model). However, they also do not have the same depth of responsibilities and risks as they are essentially firm SME's.
