In Reply To: Has anyone else heard this? Through the rumor mill I received a tip that Eliot Spitzer, NY is looking at the hiring practices of Deloitte. Some former disgruntled employees complained about how the process is one sided and at the meetings Managers and above discuss your work without you having the ability to defend yourself in incorrect information said or presented about you. Plus some other employees received job offers, started working at the firm and then HR told them they have to report to another office about 150 miles away.
Message: No disrespect but how is this any different than much of the other large companies/firms out there? Banding reviews will always have an element of "error" by mere virtue of its subjective nature. Acknowledging the error and taking the high-road than to put up a fight seems to work better in the long run. A "Hey, that's not how I believed the events unfolded, but the suggestions for improvement are valid and I'll work on them..." is more respected. As for working at other offices, the fact of the matter is that this is a consulting job where travel is 80%+. That includes other offices.
