In Reply To: Just a thought, "culture" is almost identical at either firm, I would almost, almost say that Deloitte has a more collegial environment, but not quite thanks to all the creatons that have made their way from other firms (specifically a back-stabbing Partner and SM out of the Boston office) and spoiled a good thing. You will find people that inspire you and those you can not stand either at the green dot or AC. Additionally, if you do not get a consistently great rating including nothing below a "3" (on a scale from 1 to 5, 1 being the highest), you will not officially be considered for the reimbursement program. Extra legwork is an understatement for the amount of brown nosing you will have to do to ensure know one identifies you as "not performing". Note this can also happen if there are no projects and you are not staffed at no fault of your own, happened to a buddy. Go with the higher salary and invest the difference plus raises in a Variable Annuity ($6K a year at a 6%+ return a year) chances are by the time you graduate, you will create a nice reimbursement program for yourself (also at lower tax rate since you are using investment gains for education, versus Deloitte's reimbursement that gets taxed as a bonus so you get only about %50 of the total gift). And you still have to work for them for another 2 years! Ouch! Wish someone told me that when I turned down the higher salary for the SA gig with DC.
Message: I have had similar issues w/ a partner from Boston. What are the initials of who you dealt with?
